Learn how to make Chinese Bao and Dumplings on a cookery course in Birmingham.
Join Loaf and expert cookery tutor Lap-fai Lee for a hands-on session of Chinese Bao and Dumpling making. You don’t get more Chinese than dumplings, boiled or fried and made from scratch. Lap will tutor you through making the dough and preparing two delicious fillings to create Gau Ji (餃子) – lamb and cumin boiled dumplings; and Wor Tip (鍋貼) – Panfried potsickers with pork and kimchi filling.
We’ll then move onto bao, and you’ll learn the secrets to creating light and fluffy steamed buns with impressive and delicious fillings. We’ll be making Char Siu Bao (叉包) – steamed sweet BBQ pork buns; and Gua Bao (割包) – Chinese sandwich buns. Like all Loaf courses it’s very hands-on and throughout the evening we’ll be tasting the fruits of our labour, you certainly won’t go home hungry!
The course takes place on a weekday evening from 6.30pm-9.30pm at Loaf in Stirchley, South Birmingham.
You’ll feel right at home at Loaf, and everything you learn will set you up for recreating everything you have learned – with confidence!
All refreshments, equipment, recipes and aprons are provided.
